The Care Standards Act (2000) regulations became mandatory in June 2004 and as a result, all Care Home Staff are required to undergo criminal records checks through the Criminal Records Bureau. Care Home Managers, Supervisors and Staff all require either Standard or Enhanced Disclosures.
CRB checks are usually required where individuals are involved in the following care related services – home help, nursing and care homes, or where fostering or adoption services are being provided.
